Scrappers Raise Money! The annual Harvesting Memories Crop event will be held in Michigan, on Saturday, November 10-11, 2007, to raise funds for Trees for Troops. The Harvesting Memories event is organized by the National Scrapbooking Association in conjunction with the Christmas Tree Association and coordinated by Great! Scrapbook Events. Proceeds from all Harvesting Memories efforts go to the Christmas SPIRIT Foundation, a 501(c)(3) a public charity, and are earmarked for the Trees for Troops program.
Trees for Troops is a nationwide effort to boost the Christmas spirit for U.S. military men and women organized by the Christmas SPIRIT Foundation and Federal Express. Hundreds of Christmas tree farmers from around the country donate thousands of live Christmas trees that are delivered by Federal Express to military bases in the U.S. and overseas. In 2006, Trees for Troops donated and delivered over 11,000 trees.
The Harvesting Memories Cropping event will be held at the Gibraltar Trade Center in Mt. Clemens, Michigan. Sponsors include Hewlett-Packard, National Scrapbooking Association (NSA) and more to be announced.
